Greetings everyone,
I just bought a very clean 2010 LC with only 15k (13K original + 2k that I drove from TX to CA
miles garage kept-vocational house, one owner, brand new condition. The dealer sold me extended 60k/5years Toyota Platinum Warranty and 75k/5 years maintenance (including 30K & 60K service) for $3,900. As I was driving from TX to CA, I have driven through Snow, Dust, Rain, Desert, Mountains, Heat and it cruised through like a champ; however, once I hit the freeway the tire pressure light came on and stayed solid / flashing to this point. I have second thoughts about whether to keep the warranty or not.
I used to have 2015 LC which I bought with 46k miles on it, but that one was RENTAL AZ vehicle
, I did get warranty with that one as well, and used it a lot-the LC spent many days at the dealer with diagnostics, etc. However, after approximately $2-$3k in repair costs under the warranty and a belt and a pulley change at 58K miles-there were no more issues, but that was still not a keeper for me.
That being said. I have had issues with 2015 LC right away. 2010 LC performs like a champ, no issues, except tire pressure light-which I assume could be due to possible failed sensors that need to be replaced. The vehicle was rarely driven by an elderly for the past 8-9 years, around 1,500 miles per year and kept in garage most of the time.
So, the question-should I keep the warranty/maintenance deal or cancel and get a refund.
