Anyone having problems with Internet Explorer not allowing them to log in and not displaying the little buttons on the page and inserting a red X.

I log in and get welcome Romer and then it fgoes to the next page and I am not logged in. I only have this problem on my home computer with explorer. The MSN Explorer on the same computer works fine and ist works fine on my work computer. I tried turning off the firewall and lowering the security settings.

Any suggestions on what else to tweak?

Thanks,

Ken

what version of the IE browser?
what ISP do you use to access the web? speed?

I've run the forum on IE 6, Opera 7.11, Netscape 7.1, Netscape 6.2, and Netscape Navigator 4.7. (Navigator sucks, doesn't recognize the CSS, but it at least stumbles through)

I've also used 4 different boxes, AMD-380 laptop on wireless at home, AMD-950 desktop on cable, my office P4-2.0 on a business DSL, and my wife's on her standard DSL line. As of yet, I haven't been able to create problems.

CDan was having home issues with his aol dialup, believe most of those were related to AOL and how it deals with cookies (which isn't the same as most other ISP's) If your ISP is MSN, perhaps a similar issue occurs...

I have the same issues, red x's everywhere and I don't stay logged in. I have the most recent IE6 and don't have this issue on any other board. I even right-click and hit "Show Picture" but nothing but x's, lot of them!

I just edited a couple forum settings....let me know if the issues go away or not.

Default forum images not displaying for a few members

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just completed a domain and server move with my vBulletin board and a few of my members are reporting that none of the default forum images such as the reply button and post icons are displaying for them since the move.

I've only received this complaint from a few members while nearly a thousand others haven't mentioned it, but I'd like to be able to help them out.

Any ideas as to why this would be a problem for only a few members and what I might be able to do about it?

REPLY:

If it's not happening to anyone else then this is most likely a browser cache issue. You could have them try a hard refresh - CTRL-F5 - or if that doesn't work then they should try emptying their temporary Internet files.

Run this cookie clearing program, should reset all your forum cookies and allow you to relogin "fresh". (check all the boxes) The "general agreement" on the vBulletin support forum is that a corrupted cookie is the problem.

Additionally, one users noted they had luck navigating their forum using a link like this:

do you guys have biscuits (cookies) enabled for your IE?

the alternate site worked for me. It's funny, I don't have the proble on any of the other computers in my gouse and I tried tweaking me security and coockie settings.

Its interesting, once I went to the alternate site, the other one now works, or di you make a change since 6PM tonight?

no changes from me...I was out drinking  and supporting the girls volleyball team
