My wife and I have just completed a Reno-Dallas Road trip and were Quite dissapointed about how long we got to spend in Wyoming and Colorado. I would like to propose a multi day expedition from Dallas to ....who cares, anywhere really to work out the kinks and really develope the multi day experience/self preservation skills that we will use on further and longer trips. We just moved to Dallas so we have no idea what is avalible in the area. Who else is interested? Where else can we go?
We are avid backpackers and have the equiptment, we just need to retool for Cruiser speeds and comfort.

Start with hooking up with the Lonestar Landcruiser group.

Next meeting is next thursday (19th) at papa BBQ. Northwest highway and I-35. 7PM.
Starting the first week of August and running for the next 3 weeks different members of LSLC are going to be invading the Silverton/Ouray area for about 10days at a time. Group is mostly staying in and around Silverton and making day trips to putter around the mountains. You are more than welcome to join us.

I THINK A FEW ARE GOING TO COLORADO SOMETIME AROUND THE FIRST COUPE OF WEEKS IN AUGUST.... KIND OF AN ANUAL THING... I SHOULD ACTUALY GET TO GO THIS YEAR...:bounce::bounce::D

If youre interested in doing some travelling IN Texas....Big Bend is beautiful and theres wheeling to be done there too. Also great for hiking....second tallest point in Texas- Emory Peak? Not really a peak, but it offers amazing views of the Chihuahuan Desert to the south in Mexico. Its a drive, but worth it I think. Enchanted Rock is another fun place. Were in different places....My heart- Texas, my house- Colorado. Good luck!

You are spot on...those are some excellent places to go that are actually in Texas. Big Bend and the surrounding area is one of my favorite places in the country.

Big Bend, and all of West Texas makes a great Expedition.
