Hi all.

I’m in the uk and I have a 2.4 lj78.
I’m after an exhaust. Does anyone know of a supplier?
I’m also after door skins?
Also, any other lj78 mod/advice?

You guys have already been really helpful.

Cheers.

Most any muffler shop could build you an exhaust. Probably for less than a new oem.

If all else fails. 😀

Megazip, Amayama, Partsouq, etc. plus Cruiser Outfitters will ship globally.
No reason to insist on an OEM exhaust - as suggested any good local shop can set you up. But for body parts check out the above, plus maybe hit up the Toyota Land Cruiser Owner's Club - UK - for a faster answer. They're linked here through the "clubhouse" section of Mud.
The LC parts yards in Australia often have doors and body panels but once you pay shipping etc. it would probably be cheaper to find a body shop locally that can repair what you have. www.cruiserutesandparts.com.au is one I've used in the past with good success.
A surprising amount of stuff is still available from Toyota parts departments at dealerships.

I put extractors/headers on my engine. Local exhaust shop gave me the option of aluminised steel or stainless. oem was 2inch we went up to 2.5 inch.
He bent the tubes himself, cut, welded and fitted. It is what they do. Cheaper than oem too. I drove down the street with the extractors on the way to him without an exhaust pipe. It was splendidly loud, turning many a head! $600aud done and dusted.

For my engine, 2h, negligible performance wise, but it has a lovely baritone note. (imo)
I like the idea of extractors/headers, the engine breathes a little easier. Perhaps a little more fuel economy.

I also like that I can dismantle my exhaust and put it back on, as requested for the custom job.

It's what I have, and makes do within my budget. Pretty happy.

Turbo is more effective for performance, but pending on which engine, it can come at a price, like overheating and $$.

My truck (1KZ-TE) came from Japan with a 70mm (2.75") Fujitsubo Legalis4 exhaust system purpose built for the KZJ78. This thing is a work of Japanese art. Perfectly TIG welded everything, muffler and resonator properly sized, and everything is 304 stainless steel. The only part of my exhaust system that is still lame is the downpipe with its dreaded gooseneck. But soon I'll fabricate me a worthy replacement out of the 304 I just ordered.

@Rambouk ,
The OEM exhaust for these trucks is a bit restrictive, perfectly fine for basic operation but better and safer performance can be obtained with a slightly larger diameter system with better flow. Also, the OEM system was just aluminized steel so it would rust away with time, non-ferrous stainless steel alloys are superior to the aluminized steel alloys but cost more.

Like other said, a decent muffler shop is a solid bet. I would have gone that route if my truck wasn't already taken care of.

Cheers!

I think well designed exhaust systems are often things of beauty. Wonderful curving tube things in synchronicity to each other. Hopefully you send us a pic.
Saw an older fella in 40 series ute on the hwy today, he had the classic stainless twin stacks like a truck on each side. Obviously not too old...
