After a few days in Sedona, going up and down rocks, the obvious weak link is the resonator/tailpipe on the 100. Started with a round tail pipe and ended with half moon pipe and a dinged up resonator. So I have looked into the Borola system--bolt on with a resonator (don't like, but could eliminate it), and the Doug Thorley system (cheaper, head quarters in Corona and no resonator). I also called The Muffler Man, located in Placentia, who would do a custom job from the Cat's back. I should be installing a new rear bumper this week too. Any advice? Any other shops you would recommend? I will be taking the rig to the muffler man to get a quote after the new bumper is installed, any questions that you might ask to make sure that I am getting something that will be usable? I am not opposed to something more manly sounding but I don't want it to be too obnoxious. BTW, pricewise, the Borola system for parts only seems to be the most expensive, the Thorley's are the least expensive (without installation) and the Muffler Man, for install and parts, seems that it would be less than both. Thanks in advance.

My thoughts would be to go with the Muffler Man after you get the rear bumper. That way you have them do their best to mitigate future trail damage. Regarding the muffler, I wouldn't go with a "race" version from any of the companies as it would most likely loud to the point of being obnoxious. Everything else is personal preference. I've run both borola and magnaflow on supercharged street cars and the borola systems (non race) were much more civilized.

I am keeping the stock exhaust system since I do not have any real issues with it but I did smash my tailpipe and resonator even more after adding the Dissent bumper. The tailpipe extended just under the higher bumper. The tailpipe had no room to flex upwards and it would hit the bumper on steep climbs. I had a muffler shop cut off the resonator and add a tailpipe that exits just behind the rear tire. Removing the resonator made no difference in noise. So far I have not hit it and I am very happy with the result. You can kind of see the new tailpipe in this photo:
