Nice Troopie, I have one of the ex army 47's as well and am in the process doing the same power steer conversion. I am not as far advanced as you are yet but today I put a HJ 60 fan on the dampener and this seems to have cured the lack of clearance of the lower pulley for me

I Don't know about that yet, I have spent the last couple of months whipping her into shape for NSW rego. She was registered in VIC last. I am getting close. Thanks for saying so though.

Welcome to the mud. Nice troopie. Did this one come from QLD about 6 mounths agao and does it have a cooking oil setup on it? That was my next move put a 60 / 75 series fan but i had a new coupling. Where have you mounted your p/s oil container?

It is the same one that you are talking about, but she wasn't as bad as the bloke thought. We replaced the head gasket and the engine is fine. I have stripped the cooking oil setup out of her and have been putting everything back in military configuration. I wish that I had an unplayed with wiring harness like yours! I have not mounted the power steer reservoir yet, but have been thinking maybe near the overflow and washer bottles.

Here is the picky of the HJ60 container ,only mod was straghtain the single hole strap and bolt it to the rad case and the 2 bolt flange on to the rad shroud. I used the 60 hose from the pump to the container, just cut to suit. I also fixed and painted my inst cluster.

So you had to put the PS reservoir down on the radiator due to there were no mounting holes on the engine block. Just make sure it not getting too hot for it down in that location. Got a few more pic of the set-up?
Nice job.

That was the easyist spot to put it. I didnt have to move anething and i used the 60ser feed hose from the resvore to the pump. The return line from the box runs along the guard beside the battrie tray and is bolted to the washer bottle braket.
I took it for a drive around the yard and it all works fine. I hope it wont get to hot there, time will tell.

The paint is barrier , its what the army use. Its called camaflarge green. The other two are camo brown and camo black. [ they are to come yet] Its only enmal and its scratches easy. You can onley get it in 4 leter cans around $60. Its all done in 2 pack undercoat. It will be used in the bush and it wil get scrached so i will do as the army have done and keep touching it up.

Thanks for the info on the paint.
I'm torn between the stock paint or to go army type paint on my 77 fj45. Thanks for the photo's of your truck's progress as its looking great.
Cheers

I have got a bit more done to the troopie over the past month.
Got the doors ,bonnet and windscrean frame repaired and fitted.
I grabed the spray gun and the camo paint and a beer and that is what happened. The next chalange is the rear pannel and the hood bowes.
