i have brand new 315/75/16 bfg MT KM2s currently mounted on really nice stock 80 wheels...and 2" spacers from JTDiffs.

plug: the spacers are awesome, dude; thank you.

the tires are awesome too. they grip really good on the sidewall, and will hold on to the top of a rut pretty well. most of our trails are clay and rock, so that really helps;-)

the problem is the 80 wheels offset SUCKS. so, this guy has 16" 10Js with a nice offset...trade even steven.

i have heard from a couple guys that 10Js are maybe a bit wide for a 315 tire. they say rocks and s*** get into the bead and the tire is more likely to lose air because the bead gets broken or popped.

i see how the tires protrude on the 8J wheel. i am just wondering (hoping) if maybe these anecdotes might just be some bad wheeling, and that these wheels would be a good match for that tread.

what do you think?

What was your reason for going with 2" spacers?

1" spacers are enough to run 80 wheels, that's the setup I have. Same tires to, BTW.

I'm guessing your complaint on the offset has more to do with the 2" spacer than the wheels. My truck has a little more bump steer with the 80 wheels, but evaluating those types of finite details of how these big ass trucks drive seems a little assanine to me.

No experience with the 10J wheels.

I wouldn't do it if you are really wheeling it. For a highway rig a 10" wide rim will do fine with a 315/75/16 (35x12.5x16"). But when you air down the bead will tend to want to roll of the rim as it doesn't have the pressure from the flexed sidewall holding it in place. Either the tire will come completely off the rim or the rim with pop and get grit, mud, etc.... in it. This would be especially true with the AT KO. Their rim guard really sucks grit into it when the rim becomes seperated from the tire even for a moment. This is one of those deals that isn't an internet web wheelers fantasy.

the truck is not wide enough with these wheels. i need a wider offset to run higher in the ruts.

RUTS! Well that definitely makes 16x10s with a 315 a definite NO! Ruts are hard on beads.

yep. that seems to be the general consensus. i will just have to find a nice set of 16"X8Js with a better offset.
