There is a small hill I have to go up when I leave my house in the morning. It's about a 1/2 mile from my house and to this point, I'm either going downhill or driving on level pavement. When the LC is cold it feels like a couple of cylinders are missing but if I ease off the throttle, it stops the fluttering (but I don't have a lot of power and there's an even bigger hill I have to go up about a 1/4 mile after this little hill and now I am starting to have issues going up it). I have never had a check engine light come on and no codes so I have no idea what the issue might be.

If the engine is warm, no issue.

You should check the ECU for stored codes, and don't be surprised to see misfires. Fix is spark plug and coilpack replacements if that is the issue.

Thanks for your recommendation but no stored codes… And I don’t think it’s a misfire… If I ease off the accelerator when it stutters, the problem stops. And it only happens when the engine is cold.

Because it stops stuttering when I ease off the accelerator, I think it has to be something to do with the ETCS… just don’t know what to check to diagnose the issue.

Could it be something in the throttle body?
