I'm settling my parents' estate. Dad passed away in 2014 and mom in January.

They were both "collectors" in the mental health issues vein.

In all the junk, there are a few nuggets as well as some WTF moments

Can anyone see what is wrong with this picture? Those are empty dynamite boxes, BTW.

bottles are 50 years old...?

shovels are cuddling...? not that there is anything wrong with that... one never has too many shovels...

Old, leaky dynamite? Found a few boxes like that in abandoned mines, some with the dynamite still in them. 😬

Ding, ding ding!

The nitroglycerine has leaked from the dynamite into the wooden case.

I've found these in farms from time to time; just didn't realize we had some hanging around.

These will go into a fire at a safe distance.

Other than the leaky dynamite, found several treasures.

A supposedly rusted solid Snap On torque wrench (the set screw was tightened).

Several sea chests brought over by our immigrant family in the 19th century.

Several coolio weather vanes.

Lots of amazing old high quality tools.

Quilts of various patterns and quality.

Too many lovely treasures to actually deal with, actually.

Tough. Currently cleaning out 2 estates myself. Not fun. Time consuming. Years worth of stuff. Years!
Nitroglycerine= Scary stuff! Every watch the Mythbusters episode when they experimented with it? Crazy explosive!!
Make sure to video record the reaction when they go into the fire! Should be interesting!

I’ve got a couple of old Ford wrenches like that, I think they came with Model T’s or A’s so there are probably a lot out there. I’ve been wanting to restore one to go with our ‘26 Ford TT.
