Escape Gear covers for BJ74?

Equipt1 shows they sell Escape Gear seat covers for various 70 series models. 75, 76, 77, 78 and 79.
Which of these is closest to 1988 JDM BJ74?

Also, is there a source for JDM driver seat foam rubber? I would like to replace the driver side seat pad.

I swapped the seat foam from passenger to driver since most of the time it's just me in the truck. Not the best answer, but an option.

I think the Escape Gear site has the sizes listed, I called them and they made a custom size for me 285/75/17

Escape Gear will not do custom size for the seats they do not have physical access to....but headrest covers and other type of covers they might.

(I have had to fight Escape Gear to let me buy front seats designed for the HZJ76 for my HZJ77 which is a long story but Kristin at Equipt1 made it all possible)....

Ask Onur. He has or did have them in his BJ70. I imagine both of you have the same seats before he got newer ones.

I found a used seat from a lhd passenger seat and used the foam from that for my drivers seat of my jdm rhd bj71. Since the passenger seat wasnt used much the foam was like new and fit the rhd driver the same.

Hello,

Chances are the 76/77 Series covers fit your 74's seats. In fact, any cover for separate seats will fit.

Regarding the foam, the part for pre-1999 models is likely to be discontinued.

You can try sourcing foam for a more recent model year.

I remember reading that Toyota forklift seats use the same foam as 70 Series trucks. It is worth looking at that option.

I ordered the seat covers from a 60 series, fit is almost identical. Very happy

The folks at Equipt1 tell me that Escape Gear looked at the photos I was asked to take and they cannot make covers for my seats.

Equipt1 should be able to still order them for you but they will make it clear that you can not return them if they don't work. That is what I did. Maybe they no longer do that though.

I have Escape Gear covers through Equipt on my 1993 HZJ73. I am a couple hours south of you and I would be willing to meet you to let you actually try the covers in my land cruiser to see if they work for you. I had to jump through quite a few hoops to get the covers ordered. My truck is a European model and they said they did not have covers that would work, but eventually I was able to order a set that fit quite well.
