phishtaco: I gotta call you next time I need a vanity plate! Those are great!

Nick

anyone have an early (pre-73) FJ40 rear step they need gone? I'm looking for a nice example...thanks!

No rear step....But I'll see you in the morning 5133748680...I assume you still have my address? We'll figure out some good vanity plates for you.

I think think Nick does....Nick?

I have a 2.5 ton chain fall. it will pick the motor trans transfer combo pretty easy. Just need something strong to hook it too. I have straps to run around everything, and some chains as well, Its what I used to pick my engine out and put it in is current resting place.

Dukes of hazzard style between two trees.....

Thats what the 2x10s were for in my garage. I have them suspended by the 4x4 posts.

Does anyone have a motor hoist they could bring?
Are you serious? I thought you had one there?

The title is "engine swap @ 82Trekker's"

I have one, and it fits in the back of my PU truck, but the truck is literally full of junk right now. Gotta go to the scrapyard on Monday.

LMK if the engine crane is needed, and I'll see what I can do tomorrow AM to get it into a truck to come to the meeting.

I just finally got on and read several pages of dialogue. Looking forward to joining you Sat. around noon for some work with the swap.

Thanks,

Um, yeah, it also changed locations. I can get one in the morning, just thought it might be easier if someone could bring one. It's at the shop. Don't worry about it Jim. :flipoff2:

So, uh, Marty and Nick--

What time did you guys finally hit the road?

Hope everything was cool on the ride back.

Thanks for the food and drinks folks!!

Mark/Rosa--thanks for hosting a bunch of ragtag LC freaks...

Hopefully next month, us northerners will get something together.

best.

On the road about 10:30pm. I pulled into my driveway about 3:10am and in bed about 3:30am...fast asleep at 3:30 plus 3 seconds. :D

Drove back up to Warren's the next day to get the furnace he forgot to bring. Got almost to his house when my brother and I figured out one of the wheels was loose on the pickup. Busted 2 studs, bent the other 3, lost 4 lug nuts and the 5th was way loose. Managed to get to Warren's after stealing a couple lug nuts from other wheels. Replaced all 5 studs and nuts at an Autozone on the way home. Now we have to get another aluminum wheel to replace the one we chewed up...

Oh, well...and somehow life goes on...

It was good to put faces to names and hang out in person. Looking forward to getting together again.

Nick

Let me know. I will try to run over there this week sometime.
In between the daughter, two dogs. selling a house, looking at new places, and working 40+.

Marty,

Hey man! Good news and glad to hear your rollin'. I'm all moved into my 2500 sq ft. shop down at TheRoc and would like to host another work day again in the Spring to touch base again with everyone.

Take care, and BTW, your engine is down there Marty, whenever you want it.

I'm glad to finally have it runnng. I'll make it up there this spring for a wrenching party and a comp.
Thats your engine ;) We'll get rid of it somehow.
