I'm planning to be there. The van is empty. Have tools and experience. Let me know if the 40 needs towed up from Cincinnati. Otherwise I'll see you folks there.

Anyone need any 40 parts? I have a few in the workshop...

Nick

Need a 3 speed trans cover, Holes drilled or not makes no difference, Windshield screws, Maybe a windsheild glass, and gasket:))))

Seats which I pmed you about, Seat Belts. or some clothes line.

I can think of more but need more coffee. I am planning on being there, provided I am not house shopping in spartan country.

Nick, I would definately appreciate a tow up there. I've got at least your gas/food. We'll work out some details next week. Do you have a good fan clutch for a 79 2F? Jim set me up with a fan but the clutch is locked.

Why not use an electric fan ? Jeg's sells Black Magic Extreme that pulls a whopping 3300 cfm.

Hey Phishtaco,

Do me a favor and bring that locked fan clutch with you. I'd like it back. It is a useful test/diagnostic tool.

You can buy a brand new fanclutch from Advance and the like, but it's not an OEM part.

You finally found some friends to wrench on it? If I didn't have a club event I'd come over just to watch and test all the Crown Royal!

I think....................... I have a fan n clutch from some previous version of my junk, and did have a good 3 speed flywheel cover. s***s free, transportation is on you. I'll verify after work.

I still have a really good pair of early long (68) rear jump seats, recovered them right before I yanked em out (try and insult me with an offer). Stock roll bar too, taking up space (free).

Damn, is posting s*** here allowed :D

You can post anything you want....
I guess you are skipping the Neuroc event that weekend? Jellico after? I might try and make that one.
I don't think I need any of those parts. That fan/clutch was supposed to be in that box of crap you gave me ;) Put the jump seats on ebay.
we had the swap scheduled for a couple of weeks ago but ran into some transportation issues. But we're back on. I'll be wheeling soon enough.

Warren, what year windshield glass are you using? I have a few parts windshield frames with good glass... No trans covers for the early stuff in my collection, sorry. Most of my stuff is '75-'77 with an odd range of other stuff tossed in.

phishtaco, I don't have an extra fan and clutch. The one I have is earmarked for my 45 project. Let me know what you have in mind for a time table to move your rig.

Nick

Nick I need an early piece of glass, for a 71 ish frame. I did not know the glass pieces were different from the various years. Not a huge deal, I have the glass installed in my frame there are a few cracks in it though;)

Nick, anytime is good for me. You just let me know what works best with your schedule.

Phishtaco,

Where is the motor that we are installing located? Still at your folks house in CBus? Where does the motor go that's coming out of the 40? What time do you plan on being at the worksite in CBus? (and when are other folks planning to be there?)

I'm thinkin' I'm gonna hafta get up pretty early in the morning for this one! :)

Nick

Nick...

Motor is in Columbus at my dads warehouse, I'll get him to bring it to Marks. The motor that is coming out of the 40 will end up back at his warehouse, I guess. That way I can strip anything decent left on it and he can dump the rest. Work time is up Mark, hopefully some what early, still waiting to hear from him?
If you wanna come get it next week and have at your house and just leave from there and I'll meet you there, fine by me. If you wanna come by on Sat. morning and we'll load up and go, fine by me. Anyway you wanna do it, it's fine by me. My brother is going to be in from SC so I may stay up there Sat. night, but not sure. So I may try and persuade you to dropping it back off at my house? ;) on your way back through town(cincy). Heck where do you live anyway.

My fault.... :o :frown:

Warren--ill be happy to spot you the cash for a new (used) one on Saturday the 10th.

Marty,

I'm about 75 miles from you in Cross Plains, IN 47017. With gas prices the way they are and that my van gets a little over 10 mpg I'm not goin' ANYWHERE until I have to! :D I figure on arriving at your house around 8am, loading and hopefully being in CBus by 10:30-11am. I have no problem dropping your truck back in Cincinnati without you if you like.

To answer your PM here I expect the new motor to be bolted back in ready to head back to Cincinnati before 9pm if we have a good number of hands. Don't need "motor swap skilled hands" just people that can turn a wrench. Everyone has done most of the steps required at one point or another doing regular repairs. Now you get to string it all together at once to make the motor come out in one big piece (with the trans and t-case still stuck on behind). Might be some pieces in the back of the van or Cruiser for you to bolt on at your leisure but the big part will be done.

Nick

Warren,

No go on a windshied from me. All my good glass is from "wipers on the bottom" frames which I understand to be a different size than what you need.

Nick

Hey guys,

Sorry for the absence, got my new computer finally at home and testing it out this morning. Works good.

Stoked for this get together, although we are going to move the gathering to my house as it will be much better suited. The guys I sublease from have a SCCA race next weekend and we will be tripping over small speedbump cars all day.

Soo...I'm bringing the big screen outside, firing up the grill, get the game and our motorswap on.

I"m ready

so we arent at the shop then?

Mark--i assume we will get new directions?

an address will do for mapquesting ;)

best.

Space at the shop is tight to say the least then add 3 extra race cars and it's impossible. Having it at my house makes more sense and will be alot more productive and fun.

I'll have the game on, my yard is huge, we have a big deck to chill on, and a huge driveway.

Gonna be fun.

Great.

Sounds good Mark.

See you all next Saturday.
