So - kind of a newb-ish question, but I have exactly ZERO-POINT-ZERO experience with engine swaps, but that bug is slowy starting to creep into my head with regards to my FJ62...

...Anywho - as I'm contemplating and researching engine swaps, nothing seems to be rediculously complicated, except (in my mind) how to mate the gauge cluster, and instrumentation to the swap.

For example:
If I were to take my FJ62, and swap in a 3.4L 5VZ-FE Tacoma engine, trans, T-case, and TRD rear axle (and front axle to be named later).

I know that by california law - EVERY piece of emissions package is required from the donor vehicle. That would include fuel tank (to include fuel pressure sensor), evaporative canister and all lines from and to the tank.

So - even though it would be a lot of work - the only thing I can't wrap my head around is the instrument cluster (the speedo, tach, odometer, Check-Engine-Light, etc).

Can somebody explain this for me a little?
