I've been reading about the new for 2019 2.7 liter I-4 gasoline turbo GM will have for their trucks. Specs are 310 hp/348 ft/ lbs at 1200 rpm. No news on whether or not it would be part of the crate motor program, but I assume it would be. On paper, this looks like a great alternative to the typical V8 and the Cummings 2.8R as it will be lighter as more fuel efficient (than a v-8 anyway). Anyone heard anything else about it?

Is this correct? For a turbo'd gas motor doesn't seem right.

I think it is. It's got a long stroke(4"ish) and boost, should be a torquey thing.
