I'm trying to keep my blower motor lasting as long as I possibly can, and today I pulled the end cap off and saw that the brushes are worn down to damn near nothing. Problem is, I can't find anyone locally who can provide a pair of brushes that I can solder in. Usually I've had good luck with Toby's Battery, but I couldn't get a hold of my usual guy there and the dude I did talk to was no help at all (kind of a putz actually). Suggestions?

Try Air Electric on Sprague or there is another place over on east 1st and south willow that does starter repairs that may help?

I replaced the brushes in my motor with the spare ones that came with my Harbor Freight grinder. I filed them down to fit, but they have been in there for years now. Go to Harbor Freight and take a look.

Hey I remember my grinder came with a spare set of brushes. I should go find those bad boys. Be great to get some more life out of that motor....

You could also see what comes out of that '85 parts rig we have. Another thought, and I hate to say it, is Larry Miller Toyota. Reason I say that is that he purchased Proffit's Cruisers awhile back. Maybe being as big of a Cruiser enthusiast as he is his company has access to their cruiser parts... might be $$$ though.

Damn, now who's gonna do my 4BT conversion when I have all the parts for it (the day before never)????

I took a closer look at the armature of the motor, and the copper is worn down way too far for it to last much longer. Just gonna go with a new OEM one. Hopefully I can directly source a Denso unit from an OEM supplier and save a few bucks. If not, yet another thing to add to the list of stuff I need from CDan....
