Not sure if this is related, but I posted a thread about the oil pressure gauge not reading, after checking the wire, it is still not reading, OIL level is fine and just changed two days ago. So next step is replacing the oil pressure sensor sending unit.
However, I just noticed each time I open the car door, prior to even inserting the ignition key, I hear this low whizzing sound for a second and all the gauge needles sort of vibrate and then stops, I assume this is triggered by opening the door and related to all the cabin lights lighting up, thus electrical? Not sure, but then when I start the car, its all fine, other than the oil gauge pressure needle.
This is really worrying me....being on a Christmas weekend, and I'm out of town in the San Jose area, any suggestion to a good reliable Cruiser mechanic would be appreciated, I would hate to go to a dealer....I will get slaughtered.

We just got some good amount of rain in Cali. Does your truck have the OG windshield?

Yes! I think it is the rain! what's OG windshield?
Now I recalled when I first bought my car about 8 years ago, each timer after the car wash, about a day or two later, I had problem where I can't start the car. It took several trips to the dealer and they sent out a special team and finally fixed some waterproofing problem, near the driver side windshield gutter area that goes under the hood hinge area. It was new so it was completely warrantied. But I'm afraid now it will cost me arm and leg after so many years passed and no longer under warranty. I don't even know how they can trace the problem.
I hate to part with my Cruiser!!! This is really ruining my Christmas....

When the windshield is not installed correctly it has been known to cause electrical issues do to water leaking into the dash area. That said, it may be a quick fix. It may be a matter of replacing or reinstalling the windshield properly. Not affiliated with Safelite, but I used them for my windshield repair. I made sure they used rivets and I stood next to the guy and watched the work. I asked lots of questions. Cost was $300.

No need to be bummed. Do a bit of research here. Ask questions. Start with some small things that you can tackle. And def don't bail on your truck.

I was just throwing it out there. It may not be a leak from your windshield. Your truck's history and symptoms are pointing to water leaking in from your windshield though.

Check to see whether you can observe the same scenario when you open the passenger door. It may be a bad ground at the door opener switch. Report us back.

nothing happens when opening the passenger door. all the gauge needles still shake a bit and the weak buzzing sound still coming from back of the dash a bit then stops.
