I am a low voltage control contractor, salesman and PM and generally run all my wire free air using plenum cable. I have a job to estimate that has 3/4 EMT specified for ALL interior work. We sometimes use J hooks and sometimes ride the ceiling wires or the Cat Rack when allowed. So emt is a novelty to us.

My guys are journeymen low voltage guys and are just OK installing EMT.

What labor hour rate should I apply for new construction, CMU walls and aluminum stud interior walls installing EMT and pulling wire? (16-18-22 AWG only) Oh and some high bay stuff requiring a scissor lift.

I want to break this down by rough in and trim as well.

I will have about 1000 points of connection and the building is about 80,000 square feet. I will be wheeling this off tomorrow so I do not have any footage yet.

Thanks,

BigJim

3/4 emt has a deduction of 6" for a 90* bend. A 30*offset will have a cosecant of 2 (multiply desired rise by 2. mark this distance on pipe and bend to 30*, spin pipe 180 and line up next mark and pull to 30*). Use mineralack straps and secure all yer straps first and the set the pipe into the straps. Use 2 straps per stick and no more than 360* of bend in any one run of pipe and no more than 100 feet between pull points. Couldn't begin to say what you should charge

I am still looking at a proper hourly rate to estimate per 100 foot of 3/4 rigid. For now I think I'll go with 4 hours per hundred.
