I'm looking for a kit or something to replace old or broken electrical connectors, for example my connector that goes to the auto shifter in my 88 is broken( mainly because I broke it trying to figure out how to disconnect it.) Can the original connectors be purchased or does someone sell a set of universal type male female connectors in various sizes for different numbers of wires?

you can download this wiring harness repair manual and try to find the connector, then source it through the OEM part number.

I think the wire connectors can be removed from the connector body (both male and female). If you can't find an exact replacment, then get both male and female and replace both sides. You can purchase aftermarket connectors that may work. Just be aware of which ones needs to be waterproof and which don't.

Besides @ToyotaMatt , these guys might have something that would work: Connectors - Vintage Connections - http://www.vintageconnections.com/Products/Connectors

Wow that's a great link to the connectors. The one I had to destroy was the connector to the Auto Shifter.

Hi @ToyotaMatt , wondering if you could please help me out obtaining the part # for the electrical connector that is attached to the running board lights, (Part #81380-60020 photo below) I found it labeled as KG1 on the EWG wire in body section, but can't seem to locate a part #. I plan to use the connector to wire after market lights that I can plug directly onto the OEM harness.

are you looking for the stand-alone connector housing version of the GREY-LAMP / Device Side one on the lamp above ?

or

the one that plugs into the Lamp / Connector
( Harness Side ) Attaches to the Device above ?

Looking for the connector type on the lamp side, that I can connect to wires attached to aftermarket LED lights.

The number is embossed on the rear of the connector housing.

This is only true for certain connectors in my experience, usually from the 1990s onward.

Looking for this type of connector in which I could attach wires (+ & -) from an aftermarket LED light, that way I could just plug in the harness into the existing OEM wire harness and not have to splice any of the existing wires.
