Not cruiser related but i'm trying to figure out stuff for the house we are looking at buying in charlotte.
It was built in 1983 and is 1836 sq/ft
we are currenty in an apartment so I am trying to find out what the average electric bill would be for a house like this. Also what is the average water bill.
Thanks in advance
If I get the house we can use it for a meeting or two.

Lots of variables...heat pump/condition or gas pack. How well insulated to include windows (what kind), and is the water heater gas or electric.

Or just call the electric company and ask them for an average.

call the power co. give address ask what average usage was. they should be able to assist.

That sounds similar to my house - old windows, etc. So not the most energy star compliant place.

You can probably count on Power+Gas+Water to run you around $200 year round, power higher in the summer, gas higher in the winter (depending on your furnace). I'd say were about average to a bit high.

If your wife likes it really cold in summer/hot in winter expect it to be higher.

Yeah I was thinking around $200.... not too bad, I have a crap load of those lower energy bulbs that I am going to put around the house if we get it and I think changing the windows over will be in store in the next year or so... since it is a foreclosre (good deals to be had right now for sure:hhmm:)
If we really like the house and area and decide to stay for a while I think I'll also be changing over to a geo thermal pump for the heating/ac.
Thanks for the answers and I think I'll call Duke also to see if they can give me what the average was. Didn't know you could do that :meh:
