Okay so TSM's directions said to pull the caliper off of the bracket for bleeding, but when I had the calipers mounted, it looked like the bleeder port was on the top of the cylinder bore (going off where I saw it at when I had the caliper apart while I was rebuilding it). So for those of you who bled the calipers while off the bracket, how did you have it positioned? In relation to the caliper in the pic, did you have it twisted clockwise or counterclockwise a bit?

I ask because even though the 2lb residual valved solved my pedal travel issue, my brake pedal still feels a bit spongy. Since I bled my calipers while on the bracket, I'm thinking there's probably still a pocket of air somewhere in there.

I bled mine with the caliper mounted and have no issues. I did use the residule valve but did not notice any pedal feel difference. I changed to the 80 series master and removed the residual valve and have much better pedal.

Did you adjust them up tight with the parking brake?

Yeah. I'm using a minitruck MC (1" bore) with a Wilwood 2lb residual valve. Does the 80 series MC have a different piston/spring combination inside than the minitruck MC or something?
