Now for the install- how the hell do I get the top nut on?! The LC is on jackstands and I’m lifting up the lower control arm but I cannot see even a single thread on the top of the shock. Installing Eibach fronts right now

100%. Bought them from Slee.

Bushings etc are correct. This is the one I haven’t messed with at all.

Going out on a limb, Slee's site lists this part no:

View attachment 2964331

Yours show 82126. Maybe not the same number or a part number, dunno.

The part # you posted is the same as what I have on the boxes and my receipt too.

So confused.

While I was pondering solutions I changed the oil, & front sway bar links so not a totally lost day.

Just going down the list, but you have tried extending the shocks, right?

Nevermind, looks like the shock stud itself is too short

Uh oh...got a set of Eibachs that go on next week. I ordered the kit from Tirerack.com

  • FRONT AND REAR
  • Ride Height: Lift
  • Manufacturer Part #:
    E80-82-086-01-22

I just checked the box, I am guessing the 82126.8004 H/R are front as they are in a separate compartment from the spring and other shocks.

Two of these
82126.8004 H/R

Two of these
82126.8003 H/M

Two Springs

I'll do a write up after I get the rear done next week. After questioning my sanity and ability on the tools it got figured out.

I talked to Brian at Slee and @1sar39 here.... consensus was that completely flattening the silver washers and to forego the OEM dimpled washer on top of the shock mount was the way to go. I also boiled the bushings for 15 min immediately prior and it made it extremely easy to install.

Fronts are great so far. I had basically new (maybe 500 miles) OEM shocks up front and I very much prefer the ride of the Eibachs.

4runner forum was pretty pleased of Eibach over the alternatives in ride quality so I gave them a go as well. I will report back once mine are on as well.

My apologies to anyone reading this after me saying how good these shocks in another post. I installed mine and ran into the short post mount issue. I left out the upper OEM retainer to get the jamb nut on. It was a quick after work install and hit the road. Completely forgot about not installing the upper retainer until @ZG MN recently reached out to me with the same issue. I emailed Eibach and will see what they have to say. I haven't experienced any issues running without the upper retainer yet.

Please update when you hear back. Thanks for the info.
