Can anyone provide a part number and size for the two studs that hold the EGR valve into place? Also, how do I determine if the EGR valve is sticking? I finally got it removed but I don't see any moving parts...

That second to last pic looking through the holes in the Grey part you can see the plunger. Does that move up and down at all. If it does its not stuck and you can probably just use carb cleaner and clean it

From the pic it looks like the plunger is down. The best water to see if it pulls up is to apply vacuum to it.

Mine was stuck to the top stuck closed.

I think it is stuck, should it move if I shake it? Would advance auto be able to test it?

No it won't move if you shake it. Auto parts stores can loan you the vacuum tool. Just youtube how to test egr. Should find plenty of videos. Looks like a little hand gun with a vacuum line.

You should find the videos under the title cleaning egr as well

EGR's are nasty little devils to re-install ... when you are putting the studs back on .. be careful not to cross thread them and strip the aluminum upper intake; I started the tube nut and got a few threads on that first then I ended up using a short length of wooden block to lever the egr valve into alignment with the stud holes and ran the egr studs in by hand until I was satisfied they were threading in properly and then tightened them up before finishing up the tube nut.. finishing with the stud nuts...

I replaced my egr studs with bolts. Now much easier to install.
You should be able to apply enough vacuum to open the valve ball by sucking with you mouth on a clean piece of vacuum tube that is installed on the valve. Remember to plug the opposite tube port.
Your photos don't look too bad but I would clean it up before reinstalling it if you determine it operates properly.

Do you remember what size bolts you used?

EGR Valve functioned properly, so back in it went.

To close the loop, you'll need M8 threaded bolts if you want to get rid of the studs. Make sure you purchase bolts that are shorter than the original studs. Re-installation was a breeze with the bolts.
