I am thinking of buying one for my 2000 LX 470. It's mainly a DD (95%). Right now it's running 265/75/R16 BFG KOs, OME 1.5 Medium Lift (AHC went bye bye), diff drop, SPC UCAs, OEM shocks, BIOR sliders and skid plates. So I'm thinking a rear locker is next. Are the Eaton components stronger than my stock rear differential? I have searched the forum, but comments about the Eaton e-locker seem to be spread pretty thin. I am definitely open to suggestions.

Thanks!

Chuck

Subbed for input.

Been looking at these vs arb airlocker.

Some ongoing discussion in this forum of the TJM pro air locker- these are on clearance from Summit Racing for about 50% off. Smoking deal for a TJM locker.

Saw the TJM sale thanks. I have checked multiple sites/forums many Eaton advocates and maybe more ARB. Best write up I've found so far is at the link below, though it's five years old. Seems like the main complaint I've found so far with Eaton is no noticeable sound when they lock or unlock. Not an issue for me. However so many folks do ARB seems like if you aren't willing to fix it yourself, ARB will definitely have that edge.

If you go with the Eaton please report back and if possible post pics of the install. Have been thinking of doing this.

Great product test, thanks for the link.

No expierance in the 100 series but my dad had the eaton in his jeep and it was absolutel junk!
The locking mecanisim worked about 50% of the time if that, they replaced it under warranty a couple times but still didn't work properly. Also on the locking side of the diff the there were only about 1/4" of the axel splines in contact with the eaton locker which caused the splines to strip on multiple occasions, they would not warrantee this as it was not technically the locker that broke.
