I was just having to fourwheeling itch real bad today and was wondering where do you guys go to wheel on the east coast? It was a beautiful day outside today and i really wanted to be out on the trail. There are some decent trails around my part of VA but i was wondering if there were any yearly landcruiser/60s events in this part of the world. I can navigate the trails around my place without really worrying about breaking anything, i want to find someplace challenging to cut my teeth on a little bit. Yell at me if this is more suited to chit chat.

I second that search motion, however I am looking in the northeast.

Paragon Adventure Park www.paragonap.com and Rausch Creek www.rauschcreekoffroadpark.org are the places you guys are looking for. CMCC is coming up soon I think. Thats at Paragon and is probably the biggest Cruiser event of the year. The place is over 100,000 acres, and Rausch Creek (also very cool) is only right down the interstate. Also check out the ALCC and other local chapters here on Mud for trip dates.

There's a state park in NC, down near Charolette (SP) Can't remember the name, Native American sounding, Miles of rooty muddy hilly trails. It is big destination spot for Off Road bikes and trucks. got it>>It is pronounced
"you-are-ee" (Uarrie??) State park.

Use to be lots of fire roads up off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Not stump jumping trails but hill and dale creek crossing rambles.

I have not lived out there for 24 years, but went to Appalachian State up in Boone. Had a Yamaha DT-250 all four years (class of 74), yep i''m bout used up. Pisca (cant' spell anything, map in RV) Nat. forest had miles of fire roads back then

check it out.

yeah, West Virgina, hell they don't pave any of the roads out there. Many miles of trouble find a club over there, get your mudders first.

new jersey pine barrens, did it in my 40 in the early 80's, and i do it with my 7 year old now, in the 60.
mostley sand trails, but lots of scummy mud

No clubs here in WV- that I know of. Hell, I have only seen two other posters on here from WV.

How far are you wanting to travel and what type of places are you looking for. Best place to look is the club boards here. Our club, Upstate Cruisers is rather active. Many trails in mountains of NC and we are hoping to make it over to a joint meeting with GA group soon as well.

Those sites are amazing. Thank you!

Thanks for all the suggestions, ive been wanting to get to Uwharrie, ive heard thats real fun. Is tellico the kind of place you can go with a little tire and be allright, or do you need some protection/lockers to really get through it? Id really like to find some real thick muddy trails to run, i hate the huge water holes we have on trails around here. I just love to just go hammer down for long periods of time, plus you get all that good trophy mud. Where is gsmtr?

Ditto on Paragon and Rausch Creek. Pine Barrens is pretty flat other than the mud holes.

Come to CMCC this year. It'll be a good time.

I think im gonna try and make GSMTR this year, if i can sell enough of my cruiser s*** thats laying around and get my tax refund i can toss a locker and maybe some sliders on it. Are there places to stay around the trailhead or do most people camp or what? I love big events like that, i went to the car craft summer nats in st. paul last year, filled the whole minnesota fairgrounds with sick sick sick muscle cars. A huge comglomeration of yotas would be equally cool.

East Coast wheeling

There are at least 3 events in the NE,

Coal Mine Cruiser Classic - June - http://www.gclcny.com/
Paragon

Yankee Toys Fall Gathering - Sept - http://www.yankeetoys.org/
NEA4WDC property in NH

and the East Coast Pig Run - Aug - usually here and on the FJ55 mailing list
Rausch Creek

The 2 local clubs also have less formal runs through out the year. These are on their respective mailing list
