I've been considering an early Toyota pickup or 4runner and would really appreciate some input on parts availability for these vehicles.

For a skills base line, I have some capability to fabricate parts / tools if needed. If needed I could rebuild mechanical, but body repair skills are untested.

One of the challenges I've seen is that the asking price for older Toyota's is all over the place. There was an 81 Toyota that I was going to trade a roof top tent for, but we did not finish climbing in time making it back to camp.

Any advice would be appreciated for someone new to this forum!

I look through local classified some for old Toyotas, pickup prices are all over the map but out here they seem to end up pretty nice or pretty beat. Here’s a couple nice ones I’ve seen recently for reference.
