Previous Owner began mechanical restoration and had to choose between it and his wife. She won
I've had it for a little over two years and have done/overseen all of the restoration, minus the engine swap, that was done by the previous owner. I have his history on it and comprehensive paperwork of work I've done. It's in incredible shape and it drives incredibly on the interstate and on the trail.
Body: New hood from previous owner; I replaced all rusted body parts except for front bib, hard to come by, sanded extra hard and repainted with the rest. New full rear quarter panels, rear wheel wells, half of bed, rear wheel-well support channels, rear sill, bumperettes, front fenders, rocker panels, corner channels, all new weather stripping, new window channels, squeegees and felt guides, new door latch and window regulator on passenger door, windshield, rubberized protective coating on undercarriage, rust proofing under fenders and rear wheel wells,, sanded, primed, painted original red, taillight lenses and gaskets, marine grade carpet (for riding without the top), floor-board and bed insulation, headliner, console, seats & brackets, outdoor speakers, and other details.
Mechanical: Completely rebuilt Chevrolet 350 (10,000 miles), Old Man Emu shocks, Dakar springs, PO was local BMW mechanic and oversaw swap and other mechanical restorations (new clutch, exhaust system etc); I added new seals, gaskets, steering gear box, wiring harness, gas tank, shroud, radiator fan extender (improved cooling in summer), thermostat, radiator, completely rebuilt rear end, brake adjustments & new cylinders (front right wheel), new master cylinder, new tires, re-jetted carburetor, larger air intake, electric choke and other details.
Work to be done: brake cylinders on all wheels, in the next few months or so, except front right (already replaced)
Comes with: half ambulance doors, black crush bikini top, miscellaneous extra parts, original Warn 8274 Winch and cable (needs motor and solenoid box).
