So, I started this after I put my kids to bed. Started out gentle/slow.
Got the drivers side off and then said to hell with the bumper cover and ripped it off. šŸ¤£šŸ’ŖšŸ»
Got the front stripped and ready to start install on the bumper tomorrow.
Only real casualty is the headlight washer…I jacked up the driver side and left the passenger side alone to figure out tomorrow when I can see what I’m doing. The stock bumper is a pain. I was going to try and document how to do it, since the internet lacks any real information for the Second Gen Sequoia’s. I lost patience real quick with the 17,000 hidden screws and clips.

Very cool man!
Post up what you can, I get it though, starts to get real frustrating doing something like that let alone documenting it with pictures!

Slow but steady. Gotta trim/cut the center bracket. I’m waiting for my future brother in-law to come lend a hand. I could probably do it with my 8yo. But…I at least want some adult supervision on the center mount. Lol.

I had to take it off after getting it on…Overall I’m pretty stoked. I’ve got a few tweaks to make, but after spending far more time on it than expected. I’m calling good enough for now. šŸ˜Ž
I can feel the weight difference in the handling. Might be upgrading the suspension sooner than later. šŸ˜‘šŸ¤”

Nice write up! I have the same bumper on my '19 Sequoia. I had to adjust it downward several times to it did not rattled against the body panel on rough dirt roads. Have you had it on dirt yet? Did it bang? It looks like you did not put in the padded spacers between the wings and the center. I would be interested to know how much more stiffness you get. I put those in and I think it was a mistake. Fortunately adjusting it for more gap was not hard. I also had to relocate the cruising radar and the parking sensors but that went ok.
Make sure you put a ziptie in the shackles. I lost one before I realized I needed to do that.
I don't know if you guys need a front plate but I had great success with a flip up front plate holder I got off amazon.

Thank you! I must have got lucky on the mounting, it naturally settled into about a 1/2ā€ - 1/4ā€ gap all the way around. I’ve yet to really flex it out, but I was in a dirt road this last weekend and was on an awkward position to get the truck level for sleeping in and no noticeable rubbing.
I did use the foam gaskets, I reefed the bolts as hard as I could to ensure they weren’t going to move. I’m impressed with the stoutness of this system. Everyone raves about ARB’s being superior in deer protection, but this thing is beefy enough to withstand the average deer, I’m sure.
What do you mean a zip tie on the shackle? I haven’t heard of them falling off - is that a thing?
Thankfully I’m in a State that doesn’t require the front plate. So I’ve been without it since I’ve owned the truck. šŸ˜Ž

That pin can back out and fall off. You see a lot about that on boating forums (not sure why). I lost one after a long run on a bumpy road. I did not know that was a thing until I lost the one. The easy fix is a decent black zip tie through the small hole in the pin and then around trough the shackle and nice and tight.

I am sure some other bumpers are stronger but I mostly got it to mount the winch and for the look. If I hit that thing against a rock I am wheeling wrong. I have a lift and 35's so with the bumper it looks amazing. I also did the TRD pro grill swap so there is that.

Niiice! Good to know!
That TRD Pro Grill swap makes these Sequoia’s look better. I like the look of them. Sounds like a sweet set up you have. Post a picture of you have one.

Which winch are folks using in this bumper? I have looking at it for my ’13 Sequoia Platinum, but was curious about winch space. Parking sensor will be relocated, but doubtful about the radar cruise - I always turn it off when using the cruise.

I bought a winch off Amazon called ā€œRugcelā€ seems well made, I don’t intend to use it severely, so time will tell. The main selling point for me was the 13,500 lb rating on it. These trucks are heavy and I figured if/when I ever use it, I’ll need all the power I can get.
Thankfully I don’t have the parking sensor issue since my rig is a SR5 base model.
My biggest complaint, is that the winch cover won’t fit to protect the winch cable from the elements. I’m trying to figure out a fix for that though. I don’t want road wash getting into the winch cable and causing issues.
Otherwise, I’m happy with the set up.

I have Warn EVO. Haven’t used it yet except to test it the install. Mounted bottom forward everything fit great.

For the radar relocation I used this bracket. I had to trim it just a tiny bit. Products | ajt-design - https://www.ajtdesign-llc.com/online-store/TSS-Relocation-Bracket-10052B-p194252238
After the relocation it is slightly more finicky but it still works and we use it regularly. The parking sensors were pretty easy to relocate with a step hole bit. I just eye balled it off someone’s tundra install pictures. I think it works but I rarely use it. With 35ā€ tire on 25 back spacing I don’t go for tight parking spaces.
