Winching....both @Fireman and I had front locker actuator issues, and we both had multiple winch pulls on Thompson Hill

In short, this was a spectacular trip....bucket list material :)

Great photos. I'm surprised you didn't see a lot of smoke. I do see a bit on the horizon in the last few photos.

We seemed to be mostly above it, which was nice. Views were unending...

80s on the Dusy... they say it is more challenging than the Rubicon due to no bypasses, is this true?
Oh, wow, how did I find this?
Thanks for the share.
Sometimes you have so much fun one forgets to take pictures.
Who drives the cut up tubed 80? Build thread?

There are nearly no Dusy bypasses....it is without question more challenging than the Rubicon. I'll wager there is 5ish miles of "challenge" on the Rubicon, with 20ish miles of normal trail. Figure 25ish miles of challenge on Dusy, with less than 5 of normal trail...might be 28/2 :) You are focused nearly non-stop.

@Bossman owns HalfAss...should be a build thread somewheres on it....one of the first cut-up 80's...and technically, it's his wifes ;)

Thanks for the pics. Having grown up in Visalia, this was my backyard. Obliterated a rear diff on a CJ-7 many years ago. The Dusy is exhilarating and brutal!

I’ve heard the Rubicon described as relentless. Dusy takes it to another level. It was skinny with few options for lines. You go where Dusy tells you too. I drive a full width rig and had to stuff that thing between trees that I never thought I could get through. It was truely fantastic. I wish we had more time!

It really is the best "hardcore" trail in the US that is doable by full size vehicles IMO.

I did it once back in 2011 and can't wait to have a truck able to do it again in the future.

Great photos, solid team of people. :)

Meh, it was an ok trail. BS. It was freaking awesome. Couldn't have asked for a better group to have gone with. An 80 series through there is a job.

Let me know when you want to go, Adam. Plan for next year?

Looks like an awesome trip. Been wanting to do it for a while now. I think that could be a good test for the SAS 100.
