i'm gonna go with od green on the body. Brush on or rattle-can. (no compressor or place to use it)
Has anyone ever painted a bomber/pinup girl on their cruiser before? I've got no painting skills, but know people that are.

I've got a couple ideas that I have been toying around with but havn't done it yet. One of my old neighbors is a graphic artist that has his own shop. Here's the link to his web site www.signfarm.com When Josh had his 40 on the road and Scott lived up the street he did some pinstripping on it one afternoon just playing around.

By the way did you get the glve box door you were looking for? If not I think I've got a couple you can try putting a lock in one.

yea, I picked up an extra glovebox door last weekend, as well as an extra hood to play with. I'll check out that site momentarily. I also ordered a bestop window channel for my ocdbeetle sunbrella od green bikini top! To be installed Sunday rain or shine, just as soon as i can convince a bud to help me take the hard top off and carry it to the back deck.
I'd wanted to pinstripe the cruiser too, in black and super bright green hand brushed. If i had any skills i'd also put down some gold flake, but that'd be going too far on this cruiser me thinks. maybe some day...
I'm trying to keep it a cruiser, but my hot rod wants are slipping in; certainly I'm not a purist.
The pin-up babe would be bonus. to keep the rest of the cruiser flat paint i'd just get some clear vinyl or this https://forum.ih8mud.com/paint-body/351772-paint-protection-film.html stuff to just stick over the painted babe.
I'm thinking that this would also make it just slightly harder for some a$$ to key my ride.

I'm just going to let my girls go to town on it.
I'm picking the paint color. I prefer not to drive a pink and purple 40.

I thought about the full body sticker/ decal thing.

Looks good enough to me. What i've spraypainted with the krylon od green has held up fairly well after a hear and a half. I've still got maybe 10cans on my shelf right now. i painted my hood and all the spots i ground the bondo off with the stuff and it looks just fine enough for a 40.
I've painted knife sheaths and guns with the stuff and it holds up just fine too.
I'm thinking about putting smooth durabak on the chip prone areas on the outside, rough on the lower inside, and krylon od green everywhere else but the underside and engine compartment. Those areas are reserved for duplicolor engine enamel green, which is really close to kawasaki green.

One of the old school painters I used to work with did a lot of custom paint. Supposedly when he did pin up girls on gas tanks he used magazine pics. He said he would spray a couple of coats of clear on the picture and let it dry. Then you let it soak in water until the paper comes off. The ink stays in the clear giving you a decal. I'm not sure how he stuck it too the tanks unless he laid it into a tack coat of clear.
