just wanted to gauge some opinion on what people think of the durability of dupont's chromabase?

rock chip resistance and everything

i know imron is better but i was wondering about chromabase. anybody sprayed a cruiser with it before? how has it held up?

i did a search on the internet and all i could find is how well is can be colormatched but nothing about the quality of the paint over time or against chips or anything

thanks

wow has anyone ever heard of chromabase?

I haven't a clue.

Not that my comment is helpful, but it does give you a bump to the top. :)

Personally, I use PPG because my local paint shop likes them (and those guys have been awesome), and because they support the American Truck Historical Society. Anyone who helps the ATHS show happen every year is OK in my book.

hah thanks

yea ppg is supposed to be awsome also. It really doesn't matter to me. lik eyou said my local paint supplier supports DUpont so the painters in the area and me are stuck with it. :D

yea my paint on my truck is chromabase and it has just started to cure and harden up in the sun so i think it should hold up for a good long time.

I do have one thing to say though. I will never pay for a paint job again. Its all about powdercoating ( on a cruiser anyway).

now days you can get two stage pwodercoating and i also heard that some powdercoaters have powder filler as well.

anyways thanks for the bump.. obviously im rambling lol.
