Anyone know anything about this tire? Ive read great reviews and for the price ( $143.37 ) It seems like a deal worth looking into. Put it up to the BFG Mud Terrain and the differences are minimal.

Heres a review by www.rockcrawler.com http://www.rockcrawler.com/techreports/dunlop_mudrovers/index.asp

I LOVE mine.

I have had them for about a year and after Moab I am really sold. I wheeled hard and I didn't even cut a sidewall. In addition I had no tread chunking and they "bit" the sandstone very well.

I'll 2nd Dan on this one, I have a set of 315s on my 80. They are great tires for the price .

How do they wear?

The only thing that stopped me from buying a more aggressive tire was treadwear. I drive out to Denver from KC 2-3 times a year and I didn't want my $200/ea tires using most of their life on a highway. Nor did I want to spend $800+ a year on tires.

I don't have the cash for a second set of wheels right now, so that isn't/wasn't an option.

ive run them on my taco and i like em.... and like you say bargain price. 31x10.5's for 99 apeace, sometimes better. average to good wear on a lighter vehicle though. Check w/ sams club /cotsco etc

I ran a set on my FJ40 for a while. They are tough and long lasting tires, and they are inexpensive(not cheap). The only drawback is noise on the highway as they are almost as loud as BFG MTs. I only replaced them since I sized up, but the same set of tires is still running on my friend's FJ40. Excellent tires for the $$ in my opinion.

I was thinking you have had them about a year...how many miles do you have on them? How is the wear looking as far as you can tell?

Thanks!

If the cost per mile ends up being roughly the same (say $140/45,000 miles for the Dunlop vs $210/60,000 miles for the BFG), would you still choose the Dunlop? Aside from being quieter and initially less expensive, are they superior to the BFGs in any other way? The review at the link above sure was positive.

Always on the prowl for my next set of tires....

edit: Just saw Andrew's post on the BFG Mud Terrain thread. Very interesting....

I Used To Run A Set Of 35" On My Tacoma. Great Tire And Ya Cant Beat The Price. Only Thing I Noticed Was That They Run Kind Of Small For A 35. Dont Know About The Other Sizes That Dunlop Offers, But I Would Still Recomend Thaem To Anybody.

I just rotated them yesterday with 8,041 miles on them. I am doing a 5 tire rotation every 2,000 miles to keep the wear as even as possible. The tread depth on a new tire I have in stock is 19/32 and mine measure 16/32. Wear is very even and I have no chunking at all and no sidewall cuts. I did round a few lugs just a bit when I spun them on some Granite-like rock in the Rio Puerco a month ago. They did VERY well in Moab on the slickrock, much better than my old GY Wrangler M/T directional tires. I had several minor side wall cuts and some thead chunking after similar use and I do not think that they gripped the rock as well as these tires do. If the wear-rate holds they should be good for about 40,000 miles before the get too close to the wear indicators (again, 5 tires in the rotation).

At this point I would buy another set without any reservations.

can't say that I've ever heard anyone trash talking that tire.

I have them on my tent trailer...but...that doesn't mean anything :)

IMO, it's a good tire at a very good price.

dont mean to ruin the party

i have 2 sets of these.they are all right ,but very noisy.big o makes a much better tire for about the same money.it is their multimile series.they are great tires.

I want my lug tires to sound like lug tires. If I wanted quiet tires I'd buy an Avalon.........;p
