Why does it seem that there are so many more GX470s on the market vs. LX470s???
I am currently starting the hunt for one to replace my FJ60 (which will need to sell first) and was originally going to go for the 100/LX470 but found that there seem to be TONS more GX470s on the open market.

Is there something that I am missing that make the 100/LX470 more desirable other than the overall size? Or is really more on basic aesthetics and the rear door?

Lexus made and sold more gx470s than lx470s

Well played. Supply and Demand! You will also see a LOT coming on right now with the new 2020 coming out and people getting into the 460s from 2010-2019 as the late models drop in price with the release of the 2020. I bought mine from a couple in 2009 so they could go buy the 2010 GX460.

Also from what I understand the Cruiser Platform is designed for much more severe duty and a 25 year service life where the GX are really just dressed up 4runners essentially.
The full time AWD system and V8 obviously also makes them closer in performance too but I think the 100 and GX are more alike than different in real life and a lot more people seem to like smaller than bigger here?

This means a lot to me as far as ultimate longevity and ruggedness of the 100 platform in the end although there is little negative to say about the 4runner legacy for sure too.

I find the space inside the 100 to be so far superior for comfort that I sold my 4runner and moved on up to where I had more room to move around on long drives.

I want to love the GX but having driven my Sisters a lot I just can not get comfortable in it.

See I have driven both but never back to back and both were test drives. One was for someone here on the forums looking for a 100 that was local to me and the other was when the wife and I were originally looking for our current 4Runner and we test drove a GX.

I honestly liked both, size doesn't really matter that much to me as this will be replacing the 60 which would be similar sized to the GX, maybe a bit smaller inside.
Main thing that I am looking for though, interior wise, is the lack of NAV. Both 100/LX470 and the GX470 are semi hard to come by without NAV but seems it is easier in the GX than the others, at least pre-03 for the 100/LX470.
