I’ve got parts gathered for the secondary battery under the hood. My question is, what is everyone doing with this egr stuff on the side of the intake? It looks to be pretty far in the way. Can you just directly hook the hose off the egr to the top hole?

Thanks.

Remove it and the battery tray fits perfect
So just loop the hose from the engine side into the top of the intake and it’s good? I just finally got it dialed and running absolutely amazing and don’t want to have any issues.

FYI that is not the EGR. What you are referring to is PAIR valve (Pulsed AIR Injection) part of the SFI System (Sequential Multiport Fuel Injection). EGR components are found on the left side of the engine near the firewall.

Yup, just order a Gates 22874 hose and it fits almost like MrT specified it himself for the bypass....and thanks for reminding me to install mine that I got last month! My last one was "created" by the PO, but definitely time for a replacement.

I did something very similar to @CrabCake was talking about in Post 6. I did have to use a dremel to cut the mounts off for that black worthless box. I used a corrugated style hose for mine though

Thanks for the part number.

What battery is that? I’m still trying to pick one out for my setup. Just for winch and fridge and a couple lights. Mostly.

It's an AGM that the PO put in...but just FYI, you should run your winch off of the primary battery. All other stuff can go off of the secondary...fridge, camp lighting, air, etc.

You don't want the winch to be pulling high amps through a switch/relay for your secondary battery setup. I made the same mistake until I looked at my battery controller's web page:

How do you like the AGM? You just run an auto relay so it charges while running? I was looking at others but don’t really want a dc-dc charger and all that for a fridge and some lights and stuff. I don’t even know how long you can run the fridge before you have to let the truck run while camping haha.

I haven't had any issues with the AGM (Deep Cycle), but also haven't used it heavily for fridge, etc., so I really cannot comment on performance here, but PO spec'd to use with a 72Qt ARB fridge that came with the sale (that I sold and now regret!).

For the controller, mine has the IBS-DBC (IBS is the brand and DBC stands for "Dual Battery Controller"), again from the PO. It works well, charges both batteries while running. You can isolate or pair the batteries as needed for an emergency jump off of the spare battery and also display charge level on both batteries which is nice. I run my rear aux panel with the secondary battery that has the ARB air compressor for my locker or emergency air up (if my Power Tank is flat), and also ran a fridge that the PO had too. There is a decent size breaker under the hood just after the battery that I can shut off to the rear panel when not in use on road (50 amp, you can see in pic near washer bottle). Nice thing here is if you kill your secondary battery, it won't draw down your primary at the same time, but re-charges when you run the truck (or some use solar).

Mine has this which @sleeoffroad sells, or you can find online:

Or you can go with a BlueSea system as well that @Delta VS sells:
