Hi All, Will start here instead of the 80's section. 1994 Landcruiser and the DS front power window stopped working this morning. The other three switches on the DS door work just fine.

Thinking/hoping this is just the switch giving up after 28 years and not the motor!

I've done a cursory search in the 80's section and read posts about cleaning contacts, etc. testing with a VM (which I suck at!), etc.

My gut says its just the switch and easily replaceable, assuming they are still available.

Thoughts/comments?

Death Valley Paul is a good source for this. And local too, San Gabriel Valley area.

I'll keep him in mind. Ordered an aftermarket switch panel hoping that's the problem. OEM was $350!!

New switch plate arrived and installed. DS window still doesn't work. All the other windows do.

Motor/regulator?

Can you connect a jumper wire directly from the battery to the motor to see if works?
I'd need to pull the door panel off for that, correct? I need to replace the window runs anyway but have been reluctant due to the age of the panel. I do, however, have the correct tools to pop those plastic pop rivets off...without damage...I hope.

Could you jump to where the connection to the motor is at the switch? May be tough since the pins or holes in the connector are really small.
Perhaps. The pins/holes are ok, but with my mechanical luck, I'd get the drivers window to go down and I wouldn't be able to get it back up!

In the same boat, it’s both my switch and my window actuator. The door lock acuator has gone too. Most frequently used door is the driver door, all things die eventually. Tbh my entire cockpit is dead-electrically. Dream cars, amirite?!

I've got a new motor/regulator in the garage and 4 new window runs. Just waiting for it to stop raining in Commifornia to install them.

Any suggestions on how to get the DS window down? It's stuck in the up position and all videos on motor/regulator replacement show moving the window down far enough to remove the 2 10mm bolts that attach the window?

All finished and all four windows work like new! I ended up taking ouit the 6 bolts holding the old DS regulator/motor and letting it drop down far enough for me to unbolt the window. From there I easily took the window out, replaced the window run and installed the new motor/regulator. I did plug in the new unit prior to any of this to be sure it was a dead motor/regulator and not an electrical problem. New one works great.
