I need to access the top of the fuel tank. I was hoping to see a nice and easy access cover when i lifted the left rear seat but NOT. I know it must be under the carpet.

So the question is, drop the fuel tank or remove the seat and everything involved to lift the carpet?

Which is better, (BTW i do have access to a car lift)

Not sure about a 100 but in the 80 you have to remove the rear seats and pull up the carpet. Not that much effort really. Check the FSM to be sure.

Flap the seats forward and pull the carpet, its much less PT than dropping it.

Is it the front or rear tank your trying to get to? the rear one is easy you can see the hatch below.

There is such a thing as front and rear tank? or you meant front and rear hatch? I beleive The hatch for the fuel tank must be between the rear left seat 2 hinges a couple of inch toward the rear.

I never notice that there is a seam in the carpet about there.

He meant front or rear tank. Gunney lives in the realm where all of the coveted accessories come standard, like front aux tanks. :D

There is a large access cover under the carpet, beneath the second row seats. You can Get to the wiring and sending unit/fuel pump from there. :)
