Like title says....looking for the names of club member that know their s*&t about drones. This noob needs to learn what is important and what is marketing chaff.

Why?...thinking of purchasing one for house gutter/roof inspection.

Thanks in advance

If you are looking for a drone just to fly around for fun and to have a birds eye view for gutter/roof inspection, I'm sure a cheap drone ($50-$150) with a camera from Amazon would be sufficient (as long as you don't plan on doing content creation/social media). These drones should allow you to get a visual of your roof.

If you want to record some high quality video (2k-4k @ 30-60fps), I would invest in a better drone, such as DJI. The biggest difference between DJI and the cheap Amazon specials is that DJI has a gimble that allows for superior stabilization and a much better camera that shoots better quality photos/videos, both important for content creating and recording high quality videos.

I am just starting to get into drones myself, so I got myself a DJI Mini 2. There are some good deals for the Mini 2 bundles (extra battery, charger, case etc.) now that the Mini 3 is out at Sam's Club and Costco. The Mini 2 and Mini 3 are great since they're small, light, and compact; you will not need a license to fly the DJI Mini since it is under 250g.

Hope this helps!
