It's drama. Just pull out the window switches control panel and unplug the little plug (leave the large one plugged in).

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD while navigating gnarly trail. Typos are inherent.

Can you not re-time the motor with the switch? Some toyota models, you can hold the switch down until the window hits the bottom, and then keep the switch down for 2-3 seconds... Window up the same procedure, and repeat twice. This may not work on LX/LC though.

Another note, inspect your window track on the sides and top, and make sure there is no obstruction. Also, if the window track/seal gets real dirty it can activate the pinch protection, silicone lubricant can help.

Second post in this thread may help:

Have you tried to Auto Open and let it 'bottom out'? My '06 does something similar sometimes and that is my fix.

RumBum, I have not tried it yet, How do I do that?

I just press the auto down and let the window stop on it's own. There isn't anything to it. It fixes my issue when it happens. It's worth a shot since it takes about 5 seconds.

From the net;

There is no reset switch, in this case the repair manual is wrong and misleading. The first time I came across this we finally had to call the toyota tech line for help.
To initialize the jam protection function do the following:
Remove the window regulator and motor again
Remove the motor from the regulator
Attach the motor to the electrical connector
With the key in the on position
Press the auto down switch until the motor stops
Make a mark on the gear(this will help you count the revolutions of the motor)
On the window master switch push "manual up" and watch the gear and let it turn at least six revolutions but no more than ten
Reassemble everything and it will work.

To answer TXLX100 "No". Glass was loose because the front bolt had worked out and was sitting in the door panel. I just replaced bolt and tightened both bolts. I have developed the skill to close window without taking it too high so I likely will never do what YardPig says.

Just curious....do you happen to have window deflectors like weathertechs or something of that nature?

I had to replace the passenger front window. After replacing the glass I had this problem as well. To fix it I had to pull the motor and "re-time" it, per the quote above. It worked. It was kind of a pain. I ended up pulling the glass back out so I could get the regulator and motor out easier.

To reiterate, pull the motor from the regulator. Plug the motor back in to the harness. Turn the key on. Push auto down and let it go until it stops on its own. Watch the gear and the push the switch to the up position for 6 gear revolutions, but no more than ten. Put it all back together, and you are good to go.
