I have an '04 and my seat belt latch has started acting up on me. With the belt latched, I would get the flashing seat belt light on the dash. I move it around just in the right spot and it will go away, but as soon as it moves out of that sweet spot, the light starts flashing again.

I've sprayed the latch with electronic cleaner and used a soft pipe cleaner I snagged from my kids arts and crafts bin, but no luck.

Any tips or similar experiences?

Would a part like this be covered by Toyota under a lifetime safety equipment part?

Is it even worth going to the dealer to pursue this and just replace it myself?

Thanks for the help!

Go to Toyota. Almost any make has a lifetime warranty on seat belts. Been there with an old Saab. And THAT car was old.
