I just noticed about 30 mins ago that as soon as a turn ignition key on to start cruiser, all the doors get locked? At first I thought it was funny, know it is annoying the hell out of me. Where should I start off?

My LX does that; I think it's a city-dweller security preset (anti-carjacking). Probably look up "key" in the owners manual for different settings.

It's a feature. Your cruiser loves you and wants to keep you safe. It doesn't want the doors to fly open in the event of a crash or rollover...or whatever...

There's a way to absolve yourself of this love -- instructions should be in the link that Darwood posted.

I got used to it.

Thanks for the help, but if it is affection the cruiser is trying to show me, then I apologize to my lil buddy! to my cruiser, I am sorry!

Hmmm, option in setting the OEM alarm? My '94 doesn't do this and I like it that way. Wifey's Lexus does that and I hate it.

The alarm owners manual is on Slee's web site, however it is not friendly to use because each page is a seperate file. I prefer to go here to Beowulf's website and download the manual as a single file. If you use this one, go to page 22 of 27 and follow the directions for changing the automatic door locking/unlocking function. You can change many other feature settings as well. Don't put up with it, set it the way you want it. ;p

My '96 did this when I got it. I un-programmed it using the instructions for the factory alarm. It took all of about 2 minutes.

It was some silly combination of turning the key in a certain pattern and turning the lights on or opening the door or similarly ridiculous thing.

It is in the manual for the factory alarm. If you can't locate it, PM me and I will dig mine out.

Uh, look at the post right above yours Charlie. :D

The OEM security system in the 93 DID NOT have that feature. It sounds like you have some sort of after-market system installed.

Bruneti,

Oh, thanks. Sorry. I should read more carefully next time.

Sorry,
Charlie
