Oz spec 200's have really nasty factory speakers which weigh next to nothing and have only 1" dia magnets!

I'm looking at an upgrade and wondering whether anyone Stateside has tracked down ready made speaker adapters to fit the front and rear doors? Front doors are 6" x 9", and rears are 6 1/2".

At the moment it looks like I have to make a template and cut my own. :frown:

Suitable speaker recommendations would also be welcome.

Cheers

Why do you need adapters? A 6.5 will fit in a 6x9 opening, and just put a 6.5 in the rears.

Don't forget this is a component system with remote tweeters on the doors and midranges by the front window. Also there are 2 speekers in the back hatch as well as a sub.

My vehicle only has 6 speakers. One in each door and two tweeters in the dash.

Adapters are needed for two reasons. Toyotas fastenings are in non standard positions, and aftermarket speakers need to be mounted further out from the door metal to clear the window glass when it's down. (The Toyota originals have a mounting flange in the centre of the speaker with an equal amount, about 1 1/2", protruding front and rear).

I intend replacing the front 6x9's with a round speaker.

No sub in the rear passenger side or rounds in the rear cargo door?

Your sub grille is replaced with a door, similar to the jack compartment door, behind which is a long empty box stretching an arms length towards the front.

I could always use more hidden storage, but not at the expense of my sub or refrigerator :D
