Hi Guys!

The door ajar notification on the dash as well as rear dome lights stay on all the time on my '01 LC. Also, I cannot lock my vehicle using the key fob.

My understanding is that the tailgate latch AND the rear doors control this set of lights. I removed the interior plastic panels to get access to the tailgate.

I've disconnected the wire leading into the tailgate latch along with both rear door sensors, but this does not cause the rear dome lights to turn off nor does the door ajar notification on the dash go away.

What am I missing? Nothing seems amiss (loose wire, etc.).

Where can I buy new sensors and perhaps the tailgate latch?

Thanks!!

Update:

I've done a continuity test on the courtesy sensors of both rear doors along with the tailgate courtesy lock. All appear OK (according to FSM).

Now I'm worried I have short somewhere in the system.

Is one of the back doors or the hatch open? :)

Do the lights shut off after 30'? They're on a timer and should go off. If they don't, I'm not sure what that means but at least it's another clue.

I have made sure all of the doors and hatch are closed. The courtesy lights on the rear doors stay on for 30' minutes before turning off.

The door ajar led on the dash stays lit continuously. That is, it does not turn off after 30'.

I have done continuity tests on the courtesy sensors for the rear doors, as well as the rear hatch courtesy sensor. All check out.

This leads me to believe I have a short somewhere. :bang:

Update & Resolution

Took the vehicle to local dealer after being certain there was a short somewhere. Turns out, the micro-switch inside the upper back door lock was frozen. They said they've seen it before. Once it warmed up, the problem went away. Fortunately, they didn't charge me either.
