2000 LX470. Bought the little electric motors for the door actuators because they worked intermittently. I did the rear hatch first, that was quick and easy, then moved to the drivers door and the removal of the actuator and motor replacement was relatively easy. The problem occured when put everything back together. First I broke one of the clips on the little electric connector that attaches to the lock but I managed to tape it back on pretty securely but I don't think I did anything else wrong, I put everything back the same way I removed them but now when I try to unlock the doors with the remote, the drivers door doesn't open and I have to open it by inserting the key. I know the new motor is working because I can feel the actuator jolt when I use the remote. I'm not sure what to do here, i hope someone else has had this issue and has a fix. Thanks for your time!

Funny exact same thing happened to me! Broke one of the clips from the lock when I rolled window down and caught the wire attached to that connector. I glued it back and put everything together. Now the locks don't respond to the remote key to unlock or lock doors. Went to this forum for help and read this post. At least now I don't feel so stupid... it happens to the best of us :)

I managed to fix it. You need to make sure the connections on that connector go back the same way it came off. The way I figured it out was to put the connector on the handle to try and line up the parts that needed to be in contact, hit the lock or unlock button on the remote and see if it operated. Once you get the right connection points aligned with the connector and inside of the door handle. Hold it there and tape or glue it back. You may have to use a heat gun to remove the existing glue. It takes some patience but you'll get it. The first one was the hardest but the rest will be much easier. The back liftgate was by far the easiest. All my doors on my 20 year old LX work like new now. Also make sure to keep a good battery in the remote too. Good luck bud!
