Does Toyota still make FJ40s?

I know that sounds like a dumb question, but I just got back from Costa Rica, and I saw a few FJ40s that looked brand new, and no, I am not confusing them with FJ Cruisers. Are they still made, or were these just amazingly restored FJs in a country full of worn out FJ40s?

Could they have been 70 series? Square and boxy? They're available new in Costa Rica (and 100+ other countries, just not in the US).

They ended production in 2001, but I believe that they are slated for production run in 09 like Mr. Toad said. In any case, I WANT ONE!!!!

I think you are correct. The two I saw from a distance had front turn signals like this FJ70:

They were painted the same bright yellow you see on new FJCs.

---Where did you hear that they were going to produce and was it a reliable source? That would be awesome....

It would be great to find some more information on when or if they are going to put the Bandeirante back into production. That is too cool.:steer::steer::steer:

I did a search and found used ones that were not in great shape for $35,000.00....is that for real??? If so, I would hate to see what a new one goes for!
