Anyone have an idea if this is a pintle hitch lock or have seen one used before? Have seen the other types of pintle locks but ran across this which states it is a Military hitch lock NSN 3920-01-505-0483??? But does not explain if pintle or other type of hitch? IDK

thanks

It appears like it would lock the lunette (ring part) of the trailer. Like if you had it in your driveway, you would be able to secure the "hitch" end of the trailer with this lock.

The pintel is the big clasp usually attached to the vehicle.

and a lunette lock is what im looking for but I cannot find anything on how this works on the lunette. Googled and no luck as of yet.

thanks
Rob

Looks like you stick the part on the left down into the lunette - the ears sit on the ring of the lunette. Then you put the pin through underneath and it locks in pace.

Obviously, this is a different version, but same principle. The body of the lock (left part) fits in the ring and the pin locks in from the bottom (like the clasp lock in this picture).
