Hey everyone,
The check engine light on my 1996 Nissan Maxima (90,000 miles) was on. I checked the codes and it came up with something releated to the evap canister/gas cap related. I forget the exact codes. As I am more tnan likely going to sell the car soon, I just let it be. Well today as I was driving I noticed that the light was off. The light itself is not burned out, it lights when you turn the key to the on position. But it seems as if the car fixed itself. Is that possible?

Any ideas?

Yes it can
Since you live in the great state of NJ and have the gas pumped for you The guy on the other end of the hose may not have tighten the cap all the way. The next time you got it filled they did tighten it up the right way and you went a bunch of drive cycles without a problem the light will turn off .

HTH some
