Dobinson Feedback - 100 Series

Anyone have the Dobinson IMS on their 100 series? Bonus if you a built i.e. heavy cruiser. Interested in feedback and maybe to check out how it rides.

Considering this to replace my AHC.

You won’t be upset you spent the money. I recently drove a built 100 on ims and was very impressed.

Felt solid not Floaty, but soft

I personally don't have those shocks but I've heard nothing but good things about everything Dobinson's makes and have had very good experience with the things on my truck

I don’t think any of our regular attendees that have 100s are running a Dobinsons setup yet. I’d be curious to check one out as well. With the sale going on I just ordered the MRA setup from Exit Offroad, but it’s going to be a little while before I get the chance to install them. I’m not even sure when they’ll ship but I assume I’ll have them in the next couple weeks.

I am being told that the Dobinson torsion bars & rear springs (I am getting the 440lb ones) are on back order with a 2-3 month lead time...

I’m assuming you’re dealing with Mike at exit offroad? There should be plenty of options that he can substitute from OME with the same or identical spring rates. That or you could source springs/bars from just about anyone.

I only needed the shocks. Ordered on Monday and just got notification that they shipped.

Nice. No on exit offroad I am dealing a local guy I know.

I can swap out the torsion with OME, will look to see what I can do with the rear springs.

I am running 80 series springs right now so option is to remove some weight and run them until the dobinson come in.

I have Dobinsons on my 100–IMS shocks up front, 80 series adjustable LCAs and 80 series springs (there’s a 556 in the part number) and the regular Dobinsons yellow shocks in the rear. Had their torsion bars up front but it was too stiff, even with a 12.5k Comeup winch and second battery—I think one needs a really heavy front end for the HD TBs to make sense. So I’m back to stock TBs up front.

Anyhow, that’s the setup, and I’m quite peased. The IMS fronts are less harsh than the yellow ones (which I ran previously) were.

Poped out of the tent to take a pic and ensure I wasn’t misremembering what shock I gave up front….

I ordered IMS front and rears. I am going to get the OME torsion bar up front and already have 80 series springs in the rear that I hope will work for the time being (maybe with some spacers).

Good news is everything is in stock so I should be doing the install over the next couple of weeks. Will update with results.
