Do you shave your dog?

Oh yeah. Duncan (my golden retarded) grows a 30 below zero coat and uses it. As the transition from winter to summer is about two weeks long; shaving is a must.

Meridian (my german shepard) gets by just fine. She has a rod in her leg so I don't leave her out in the winter for more than 20 minutes at a time. She sheds for about two weeks and is good to go.

LOVE the cat pics. Classic. Thanks LabRat

I have a husky and a malamute, I would never even attempt to shave them. It would kill my clippers. They have so much fur....

Plus, I was told it can lead to anxiety and sunburn. A husky/Mal only really shed a lot twice a year, so it's not that bad anyway.

I've heard you shouldn't shave a dog with an undercoat anyway.

If you still need to ask .. :flipoff2:

Jake had his hair cut yesterday. Poodles don't shed, which is cool, the down side is they need be cut. I actually leave his hair longer in th summer because it insulates him.

Not that it matters, he pretty much goes where I go.

I used to travel a lot for my company and my room mate took care of my chow.. Well I was gone for about a month and when I came back to my dog he was shaved like a lion.. although I woudn't do it to him myself I thought he looked funny as hell.
