LH thread?

IIRC there was a trailer that had one wheel RH thread lugnuts, and the other LH....not sure what the theory would be behind it.

My 62 scout had the Passenger side conventional ans the Drivers side left hand thread.
I think Ford did it to for a while.

other than that, WTF is wrong with the trailer tires/the point of this thread?

nothing to do with the direction. How about the dots locations? As I said, better not to ask...

What are you talking about?

Nuts backed off, wheel fell off, now you've marked the nuts so you can tell at a glance if the are loosening? :meh:

smart man!
fortunately, it didn't fall off completely but that was very close. Likely had forgotten to tighten the nuts fully on one side after putting on new tires. But that did a number on the studs so I am checking visually now to make sure the nuts stay tight...
Better to do this preventively though.
Don't know if the nuts would go back to the same position after removal and reinstallation though. So I used an easily cleaned paint.

Cause you couldn't have said that on the first post...

You can also buy "Wheel nut indicators" ...those little yellow flags. They will flop if a nut is loose.

yup but why if I've got paint at home.

Because big rigs are cool.

This thread was pointless.
