Your call bro. Some like flat springs, some don't. People will chime in....

Those look perfect for SOA.

I would run something since the stock springs de-arch quickly and are very soft when sprung over...lots of sway...but just my opninion..

Or you could buy lift springs and give me your stockers. :)

Just an idea.....

that has been my experience with every SOA wagon I have done, FJ60 or 55... I consider them absultely mandatory, unless you absolutetly use all leaves from the stock pack and that they are in good shape to begin with, and even then I am a little skeptical, just my. $02

Add a leafs suck, I just removed my add-a-junks from my SOA and the ride is much much better and I gained a huge amount of flex. I would advise against them. If you find that your springs are sagging, I think the right thing to do would be to talk to Alcan and order a new main leaf and possibly another leaf close to the same size as the main.

Add-a-leafs are thick and are very harsh on springs and your back teeth.

After rereading this I think I would have to re think my ideas here...I don't have add a leafs in my pack, but do have a few extra leaves ...I would look at building up your pack somehow...cause they do sag quick...

thanks for the responses. I want to try and keep cost to a minimum, yet still do it right the first time. I didn't even think about new mains, I'll definatly look into that. Thanks. Any other bit-o-wisdom about the SOA would be great. I'm trying to soak up as much info before I dive into it, this is my first time doing something this involved. I know I am a little over my head but I want to learn and my rig isn't my daily driver.

Are the aal's on the rear? My rear flexed Ok with them on and now it flexs awesome with them gone. Before my springs would flex and stop long before I ran out of shock, Now it flexs til I run out of shock. Every rig is different, I have had it SOA for a while and am now starting on tweeking it til the wheels flex thru the hood.;)

Stock springs with LONG add-a-leafs. I still get mad flex and have a more stable ride with the aal's. I would not be clearing my 35's without the aal's. I would be afraid of the stock spring bending over a short aal, but it looks like 2badfjs is running a shorty. The short ones are stiffer than the long ones. I got my long aal's from Man-A-Fre.

here are a couple posts on add a leafs and SOA wagons. Same thing for 60's and 55s IMO.. My goal was to create an all-around safe and stable on road SOA that was just as capable as hauling as a good SUA suspension. Now, after having a sloppy soft supsennion for some time, and having this one which is slightly firmer, I would not go back to the soft suspension even for off road, the stiffer/safe one is 100% the way to go in my opinion, even for off road. It is just too soft IMO especially off camber... I have also towed cars with the cruiser (as much as 12,000 lbs) and it is quite solid...

Here is a photo of the truck with 1500-2000 lbs of s*** on it including 300-400 lbs on the roof...

Are the add-a-leafs that you are running the same thickness as the MAF ones? It doesen't seem like it, but it's hard to tell.

Good ride without sway bars, definately an achievement. Awesome rig dieselcruserhead.

yes they are about the same thickness actually. I figure each add a leaf seems to be about a 300 lb load rating... If I put them on the ground arch-up and stand on them I can just get them to touch the ground jumping up a down a little and I am close to 250... That is the important part, but yes they are long and 'soft' versus the short stiff as a brick ones... I got them at a local spring shop, that is what I would do versus ordering, probably cheaper too. Mine were close to $60 a pair local with tax..

MAF long addaleafs in front and shorts in the rear with stock springs and 37s. Flex is not a problem 14" bilstiens up front w ford shock towers 10" DTs in rear and could technically flex alot more, but I don't think I need to. Stock springs allowed way too much body roll on road AALs helped alot. No swaybars needed. Would like alcans or deavers some day just to tighten it up a bit.
