So i have bought a knackered 1993 Hilux 4Runner with a 2LT2(with a cracked head) and i noticed when spinning the rear wheels by hand both of them turn in the same direction and not opposite. Does this mean i have an LSD of some sort? Vin is JT111LND909010803. I tried looking for the little plate where it says the diff code but i couldn't find it.

If there is a switch in the dash and wiring to an actuator, then you would have an e-locker. Not sure if Toyota had any stock lockers that weren't electric.

tag is on the b pillar by the door catch

pic of diff?
I've gotten some weird 4runner with no plate, and here's the diff

what about the firewall under the hood?
also you're showing the housing not the diff.

put one wheel on the ground and see what happens when you turn the up wheel.
does it click or "rachet" or is it smooth and hard?

I was really hoping to get away with not opening the diff up lol, yeah the VIN plate is missing which apparently is a thing with 4runners cause i found a lot of threads about it. Its actually one of the things that worries me if the inspection guy will fail me for it. Anyway i stopped one wheel from spinning and now it spins opposite of the one im spinning

It's possible if the truck has been sitting that the spiders are rusted together.

I guess ill have to open the diff case and take a peek inside

So many of our Trucks come with a LSD rear diff. Like Devil Paw said check under the hood with the Axle Code.
Many people (me Included) do an e-Locker Swap but that requires modification. I dont think they came with one factory. but I could be wrong.
Now if its a spool locked or Welded... that you need to pull the diff out to see... might as well seal it up are changed out the wheel bearings if you are doing this. unless the bearings feel MINT...
